The Perfect Summer Travel Outfits

I travel a fair amount for your average 20-something woman. Throughout my life, I’ve found myself standing in my closet 20 minutes before I’m supposed to the leave house for my trip staring blankly at my clothes. I would constantly be in a war with myself when trying to decide if I should dress chic or comfy.

After the variations of the phrase “cute airport outfits” I typed into Pinterest, I finally narrowed it down to three simple outfit choices that are stylish and comfortable. So when I’m on a plane, the only thing I want to do is cuddle up in a blanket and fall asleep. However, that isn’t always an option. Wearing a maxi skirt is the next best thing though. A black cotton maxi skirt paired with a white tank top will have you feeling cozy, and looking fabulous. I personally love neutral colors for traveling because they’re easy to match up and you don’t have to worry about your bag clashing with your outfit often. I tend to always be cold, so tossing a sweater in my carry-on bag is a must for me. I like to keep my jewelry simple when traveling. I usually just wear a ring, a pair of stud earrings, and maybe a small necklace. Just a few pieces will pull your look together without looking like you’re trying too hard. The second outfit I suggest when traveling is a pair of black leggings and an oversized button-up top. Personally, I love to wear my Burberry Stretch Cotton Check Skirt with the sleeves rolled up. It makes me look very pulled together and polished, but I’m not too hot or too cold in it (plus it’s amazingly soft). I just pair this will a comfortable pair of flats and no-show socks (these are perfect for when you have to take off your shoes to go through security and don’t want to walk barefoot). I usually will pull my hair up into a sleek ponytail or a soft messy bun. Sunday when I went to the airport, I wore a black pantsuit (it’s like a romper but with pants instead of shorts) that went into a mid/low v-neck and had small straps. With this, I wore/carried a nude colored light jacket and black crochet sandals. I wore my hair up with this outfit as well. Those are my three staple outfits when traveling in the summer. I like them because I can still look stylish and casual, but I don’t have to compromise my comfort either. Whenever I travel, I try to keep my makeup as simple as possible if the flight is more than 2 hours. I like to keep something on my face when I’m traveling because I feel like it keeps dirt and germs away from absorbing into my skin and it keeps it moisturized (I don’t know if there’s any science behind that, but that’s just how I think). I’ll usually just wear a BB cream, concealer, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. I do this so I don’t have to worry about my makeup getting messed up if I fall asleep or if I decide to take it off during the flight. All I have to do is just touch up my face with powder for more coverage, do a quick winger-liner, and swipe on some lipstick when I’m about 5 minutes from landing. I hope this post helps some of you travel beauties on your upcoming trips if you have any. For those of you who don’t have a trip coming up, you can always bookmark or pin this article for you to go back to later on.
