The 9 ColourPop Shades You Need to Own

"Are your lips real?"

That's probably one of the top three questions people ask me. The answer is yes, they're real. You can go through all of my childhood photos, or look at my dad (who is where I inherited them from), and see if you don't believe me.

Do they look a little fuller? Sure. But that's because when I was younger, I would try to make them look smaller (big eyes were the trend, not lips!), and also over the past 5 years of my life, I realized how important lipliner and proper lipstick application were.

Anyway, if you know me, you know that I wear lipstick everyday. Literally. I'll wear a completely bare face, but my lips will never be naked. So with this in mind, realize that this means that I wear a lot of different lip products. One of my favorite brands for liquid lipsticks is ColourPop. And ladies, I have nine matte shades that you need to own.

The good news is that you can still buy the mini versions and own them all for under $40. I suggest adding them to you cart now.

The first five you need to buy are all in the "It's Vintage" kit. The colors are:

  • Bianca

  • Tulle

  • Notion

  • Love Bug

  • LAX

The best way to describe these colors are cool-toned, dark neutral berry tones. You have everything from a medium mauve rose to a deep blood red. These colors will be your staples during the fall, but will give an edgy vibe to those light hues you'll be flaunting in spring too.

My personal favorite of this kit is Love Bug. It balances out a warm, reddish eye look effortlessly.

The second five to add to your collection are in the "Foxy" kit. In this set, you'll find:

  • Beeper

  • Tulle

  • Clueless

  • More Better

  • Creeper

Yes, I realize "Tulle" is in both of these kits, but I'm telling you, you will use dusty mauve tones more often then you think. It's like a neutral, but fancier. You'll see what I mean when you wear it (and reach for it by habit on a daily basis). In this kit, which is my favorite one, you have three bright neutral tones and two blue-toned reds (a red and a wine). This kit will get you through summer and spring easily, but also year-round. Despite the name, the red shade, Creeper, is perfect for the holidays. And that wine color, More Better, is going to pop when you do your classic brown smokey eye in the fall.

If you can only afford one kit, I would recommend "Foxy." It's really worth it to buy both if you're able to! Think about it, you're getting 10 mini liquid lipsticks for the price of 2 regular sized ones from Kat Von D or Anastasia Beverly Hills. Colourpop has the same (if not better) staying power of those brands too, so I mean, it's totally worth it.

If you guys have any questions or need any help in choosing a kit or shade, please let me know!
