Summer (and Smooch) Proof Liquid Lipsticks

It's almost summer, which means it's time to find out which makeup will make or break in the sizzling heat.

Luckily for you guys, I've decided to get a jump start on finding out which lip products will beat the heat. Since I'm picky about long-wearing lip products, I only have two so far that I think are good investments for the summer, but they're ones that really last.

My first pick is the one that I've had the longest--the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks. I'm totally obsessed with the shades "Ruffle Trim" and "Push-Up." "Ruffle Trim" is described as a "cinnamon pink" and that''s actually really accurate. It's this gorgeous burnt pink hue and looks amazing by itself or underneath "Push-Up" which is a light pinkish brown shade. I personally find "Push-Up" to be too light on its own for me, which is why I put it on top of "Ruffle Trim," but it does look really nice on other people. The Lip Lingeries are super matte, almost to the point where they're a bit drying, but super long-wearing too. I've worked entire shifts at work and didn't have to touch up even once. The really nice thing about these liquid lipsticks is that you don't need a liner if you apply them carefully. I also love these because they'll stay on while you're eating/drinking! These are about $7 each, so you can really customize your perfect shades by mixing two together for less than $15.

My second recommendation is Too Faced's Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. I only own one of these and I own it in the shade "Melted Nude." Personally, I'm not crazy about the color I got; it's very orange-nude for me. However, it will look really nice in the summer when I'm a bit more than. I typically always wear darker/brighter shades, so nudes are a bit out of my comfort zone, but I do really like the formula. This liquid lipstick is so soft on your lips. The one I got is not matte, it's kind of like a satin. It's so beautiful. Too Faced also makes these melted lipsticks in matte finishes, "chocolate" (brown tones that are infused with cocoa-powder), and metal finishes. Besides it's creamy and rich texture, the color payoff is great. The lipstick doesn't bleed out if you don't apply lip liner and the color won't fade or become patchy. This lipstick is definitely smooch-proof too! I wouldn't go have an hour long make-out session and expect it to stay on perfectly, but a few smooches won't mess it up or transfer. These lipsticks will run you about $21, but they're well, well worth it.

I'll of course let you all know when I find some more summer-proof makeup that's worth buying, but until then, I hope you have a great week. Try some of these products out and let me know what you think!
