This is the Happiest Place in Chicago to Visit This Summer
On Sunday, my sister and I got to feel like we were kids again. Everything was larger than life, bright and colorful, and we didn't know what to expect next when rounding the next corner. There were things to see, do, and even taste. The hour and a half that we spent were full of laughter, smiles, and tons of photos.
The place we experienced all of this at was called "Happy Place" which pretty much sums up the entire place.
For those of you who haven't heard of it before, Happy Place is a "pop-up experience" adorned with larger-than-life installations in a variety of rooms. Some of the rooms include candy and bright colors, while others include confetti and bursts of air. It reminded me of those fun houses that my sister and I used to go to as children—minus the distorted mirrors.
If you're into taking pictures, definitely make sure your camera or phone is charged! There are a ton of photo opportunities and there are plenty of staff in each room who are more than willing to help take the best photos and videos for you.
If you visit Happy Place's website, you'll quickly see that the purpose of the pop-up is to put more happiness into the world and surround each person that comes in with all things happy. Based off of all of the flowers, lights, confetti, and colors my sister and I saw, I can definitely say that everything symbolized happiness.
My favorite installation at Happy Place was the giant inflatable pot of gold that they had. This "pot of gold" was a giant ball pit that you jump into. The whole installation looked like the pot of gold that was rumored to be at the end of a rainbow when I was a child. And yes, they did have a giant rainbow to go along with it too!
I don't want to write too much because I don't want to spoil any surprises for you all if you haven't gone yet. And if you haven't gone yet, I would highly recommend making time for it! It's so much fun for all ages and is something I am so happy I got to do with my sister. It brought back so many memories and allowed us to make new ones as well!
Happy Place was only supposed to be in Chicago until August 6th, but I saw on Instagram yesterday that Happy Place announced that they will now be in Chicago until September 3rd! YAY! So make sure that you get to it before it's gone!
Thank you so much for reading! As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!
